Petra Casén- Pianist in South West London

Petra’s musical journey began in Sweden, where she grew up. At the age of 16 she was offered at place at the Music College of the Swedish Radio at Edsberg . Two years later she received a British Council scholarship which enabled her to continue her studies in London. She has received coaching and tuition from some of the world’s most inspiring musicians and teachers.

Petra’s musical career has been varied. She gave her debut recital at the age of 15 and her concerto debut 3 years later. Since then she has combined playing solo recitals with playing chamber music and she has worked with singers, dancers, in the theatre and with film and co-devised a number of illustrated concert talks on Music and Art. She has given radio broadcasts and appeared on Swedish television.

Petra is equally at home in repertoire of the Baroque era as in Classical, Romantic and 20th century repertoire. As a solo recitalist she is known for her imaginative and engaging programmes in which she likes to juxtapose familiar works with the less familiar.
