A Holistic Approach to Learning
Over the years, Petra has developed a unique and sensitive teaching style that combines musical training with principles inspired by Yoga and the Alexander Technique. This holistic approach helps students become more aware of posture, movement, breathing and relaxation, allowing them to play with greater ease and freedom.
By encouraging a natural and balanced way of playing, Petra helps students develop healthy habits at the piano while improving expression, control and confidence.
Petra can also help students prepare for ABRSM or Trinity/Guildhall examinations. Exam preparation is available for those who wish to follow a structured path, but it is completely optional. Students are equally welcome to learn at their own pace without the pressure of exams.
Whether a student is learning for pleasure, returning to the piano after a break, or working towards a specific goal, Petra tailors each lesson to suit their needs and aspirations. Her aim is to help every student reach their full potential while enjoying the process of learning and making music.
Lessons can include technique, sight-reading, interpretation, musical expression, practice guidance, theory, aural training and performance preparation.
